Kiara

This cougar, Kiara, came to my wildlife rescue as a baby more than ten years ago, and had been brutalized by a breeder and was in horrible shape. Since then, she and I have formed a bond unlike any other I've shared with any animal. She doesn't much care for people, but always makes sure I know how much she appreciates her life here. I tried to capture her affection in this video. She is absolutely precious when we are alone, and purrs non stop. It's very magical to spend time with her and I wanted to share this. She wasn't crazy about the camera, but you can get the idea. She is overweight, but she spent some hungry days before I took her in, and she expects her food each day. I hate cages, so I make up for it by spoiling her. Yes, I CAN go in with her, but I do not. Accidents can happen. She is what she is, which is a potentially dangerous predator. I love her through the cage wall and that keeps me safe, and in turn, keeps her safe, but I have to admit, I trust her completely. Like I said, she's my best friend.
